Co-curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities
At Three Peaks Primary Academy, personal development sits at the heart of our vision for every child. Alongside our ambitious curriculum, we offer a rich programme of co‑curricular and extra‑curricular clubs that help pupils develop confidence, character and key life skills. These opportunities reflect our values of Pride, Respect, Community, Excellence and Ambition, and support the Creative Education Trust principles of Ambition, Equity and Opportunity.
From early leadership experiences to hands‑on enrichment, our pupils enjoy a broad range of activities that nurture their individuality, strengthen friendships and broaden horizons.
Three Peaks Primary Academy offers a wide range of morning, lunchtime and after‑school clubs that allow pupils to explore their interests, develop new skills and build confidence beyond the classroom. Morning clubs such as Nintendo Brain‑Training and Team‑Building help children start the day positively by strengthening problem‑solving, teamwork and resilience. Lunchtime activities—including Strategy Games, Mini Movers, Little Athletes, Hockey, Quiz Club, Sketch Club and Zumba—promote creativity, physical health, communication and reasoning, all aligned with the school’s Personal Development Framework. Afterschool clubs, such as Choir, Multi‑Sports, LEGO Club, Outdoor Adventure, Musical Theatre, Junior Police Cadets and Glow‑in‑the‑Dark Dodgeball, offer further enrichment and introduce pupils to real‑world experiences.
Pupil leadership is also central to the academy’s ethos, with roles such as the Pupil Panel, Junior Leadership Team, Play Leaders and Wellbeing Ambassadors helping children develop confidence, responsibility and agency. Through these leadership opportunities, pupils build transferable skills in communication, organisation, teamwork and emotional self‑regulation—preparing them for future leadership within and beyond school.
Why Personal Development Matters
Through clubs, leadership responsibilities and enrichment experiences, pupils at Three Peaks Primary Academy learn far more than academic knowledge. They grow into confident, thoughtful and responsible individuals who contribute positively to the world around them.
Our Personal Development Framework helps pupils develop:
- Character: resilience, kindness, respect
- Agency: responsibility and independence
- Communication: confidence in speaking and listening
- Critical thinking: reflection and problem‑solving
- Emotional literacy: understanding feelings and responding positively
- Careers and employability skills: teamwork, creativity, leadership and digital literacy
- Cultural capital: rich experiences that broaden horizons
These opportunities are central to our commitment to excellence, wellbeing and aspiration for every child.
