This page will give you relevant information about Reception and provide links to resources to support your child.
Homework is sent home in a pink homework book on a Friday. Please return homework by the following Wednesday. Please support your child to recognise their letter sounds using the green sound book that was sent home.
Please ensure your child has their reading books in school every day. Your child will read with their teacher once a week, but books will be changed more frequently if they need a new book. Please let adult on the door know in the morning if your child needs a new book.
Reception's PE day is in on Friday. Please ensure children have PE kits in school every day. PE Kit consists of a named white t-shirt, dark shorts and pumps.
How you can help your child at home:
- encourage your child to get dressed independently.
- practise writing their name.
- practise recognising and writing their letter sounds and numbers.
- reading books.
- identifying number and shapes in the environment.
- talking about changes in the environment (seasons).
- asking them to write the shopping list.
